New Technical Adviser of Ieanyi Uba FC, Daniel Amokachi has assured that the technical crew will strive to pick a continental ticket at the end of the ongoing Glo Premier League season.
Speaking during his unveiling at the Rojenny stadium in Oba, Anambra state , Amokachi said he was confident that the good times would start rolling in for the club, adding that he was happy to be deemed worthy of the job by the Chairman of the club, Ifeanyi Uba of Capital Oil and Gas.
Amokachi, who was unveiled alongside former Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer, Ike Shorunmu, who is now the team’s goalie coach and former Flying Eagles coach, John Obu, who now acts at the Technical Director, said that with the experience and depth of the trio that Ifeanyi Uba FC will soon be a force to be reckoned with by other teams.
“This is a great honour for all of us and I believe that we have the experience and technical knowledge to lead the team to great heights. We thank the chairman for saddling us with this great job and promise not to fail him and our teeming fans.
“Our immediate target is to make the club strong so that we can finish well and get a ticket to play continental football next season. I am so passionate about our league, which made me to join Ifeanyi Uba FC. I was the first ex-Eagles player who came back to coach a team in the league, Nasarawa and my records are still there, because I got a continental ticket for them”, said Amokachi.
Speaking earlier, Uba said Amokachi was chosen on merit, urging him and his technical crew to overhaul the team to achieve peak success.
Uba assured the technical crew of adequate support to achieve their set targets.
“You have been chosen to make this club great and I assure you of full support In any area that you consider will help make this team a reference point in the country”, said Uba.
