Louis van Gaal has indicated that David De Gea will miss Friday's trip to Aston Villa as he remains distracted by transfer speculation.
De Gea, a target for Real Madrid this summer, was left out of the squad for Saturday's Premier League opener against Tottenham due to concerns over his focus.
New signing Sergio Romero played that game, with Sam Johnstone on the bench, and Van Gaal told MUTV that he had not changed his position on De Gea.
"There's no difference," he said. "The transfer period is still open and he [De Gea] has still the same problem."
De Gea has entered the final year of his contract but he could yet remain at United for the rest of the season.
