SUPER Eagles captain, Vincent Enyeama may have played his last game for the team following his refusal to honor tomorrow’s AF- CON 2017 Nations Cup qualifier against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam. There are reports that officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are considering blacklisting him from the team. NFF President Amaju Pinnick and other top officials of the soccer federation met into the late hours of the night on arrival in Dar es Salaam, obviously to decide what to do about the France based keeper.
Despite the fact that news had since filtered in that the keeper is bereaved, having lost his mum, many top officials here still considered his action as an act of sabotage.
“We have discussed Vincent, but we have not taken a decision yet. We will do that after the Tanzania game,” a board member told Daily Sun- sports last night. Eagles handler, Sunday Oliseh had yesterday berated Enyeama over his late withdrawal, even as he fell short of calling the keeper a saboteur.
Eagles are here with the goalkeeping trio of Wolverhampton’s Carl Ikeme, Sunshine’s Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Enyimba’s Femi Thom- as who was handed a last minute call up following the withdrawal of Enyeama. Its not yet clear which of the keepers will get Oliseh’s nod for the game tomrrow.
