MASSOB To UN: Let Us Go

For the umpteenth time, the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has again called on the United Nations (UN) to pass a resolution recognising the South- East of Nigeria as a State of Biafra.

He stated that with the present political marriage between the North and South- West, Ndigbo had no place in the political arrangement of today’s Nigeria, emphasising that in the present circumstance, it would be expedient for the UN to recognize Biafra as a sovereign state.
Last week, the Ex-Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo had a private meeting with the leader of the MASSOB, Ralph Uwazurike at Buguma Toru LGA of Rivers State recently.
Also recently, MASSOB warned the former Minister of Defence, Lt. Gen. Theophilus Danjuma, to desist from making derogatory statements about the late Biafran leader, Chukwuemeka Ojukwu.
The warning came after a statement by General Danjuma that Ojukwu could have averted the bloodbath in the Biafran war if he had given up following the fall of Enugu during the Nigerian civil war.
Meanwhile, during the electioneering period, the police in Imo state arrested members of  MASSOB suspected to be in possession of  Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
