ICPC must probe Fayemi –Ekiti PDP insists

We are in the era of probe, where the umpire has promised that there will be no sacred cows, whoever is found wanting by the law will go in for it.The corruption searchlight is now fixed on former Ekiti state Governor,Dr fayemi.

As the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) begins the probe  of former governors, Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  has urged the Commission to  include former Governor of the state, Dr Kayode Fayemi, in the list.

The PDP said that a lot of petitions and pieces of evidence had been submitted to the ICPC, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other anti-graft agencies to assist them in getting to the root of the financial misconduct allegedly perpetrated by Fayemi while in office.
“As a party, we have raised this alarm before, to forestall this high -wired conspiracy and cover-up, but the anti-corruption body refused to come out to deny or explain. Likewise, the Presidency has not said anything contrary to the allegations, hence our belief that the non-inclusion of Dr. Fayemi on the list of the individuals being probed by the ICPC, is grossly deficient and it is a deliberate attempt to trample on justice.”
The PDP spokesman said the position of the anti-graft body was not in tune with that of an unbiased investigator and credible organisation against corruption.
