David De Gea to miss Aston Villa trip - Man United Boss Louis Van Gaal
The ESPN FC panel looks at the David De Gea situation at Manchester United and speculate what manager Louis van Gaal is planning to do with the Spanish goalkeeper.
Louis van Gaal has indicated that David De Gea will miss Friday's trip to Aston Villa as he remains distracted by transfer speculation.
De Gea, a target for Real Madrid this summer, was left out of the squad for Saturday's Premier League opener against Tottenham due to concerns over his focus.
New signing Sergio Romero played that game, with Sam Johnstone on the bench, and Van Gaal told MUTV that he had not changed his position on De Gea.
"There's no difference," he said. "The transfer period is still open and he [De Gea] has still the same problem."
De Gea has entered the final year of his contract but he could yet remain at United for the rest of the season.

FIFA: NFF may not endorse Kalu to contest for Presidency
It was obvious last night that the Nigeria Football Federation may not endorse the candidature of former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu for FIFA Presidency. Former Wimbledon star John Fashanu among many others have been campaigning for Kalu to contest the election to replace Sepp Blatter
However, Kalu has to be endorsed first by the Nigeria Football Federation before he can contest for the position. The federation also has to consider section one of article 13 of the FIFA statutes of the section which specifies conditions a candidate running for the office of FIFA President must meet.

MANCHESTER UNITED TARGET PEDRO SAYS FUTURE AT BARCELONA UNCERTAIN
Barcelona forward Pedro says he does not know if the UEFA Super Cup will end up being his last match for the club amid interest from Manchester United.
Pedro came off the bench to score the match-winning goal on Tuesday night as Barcelona saw off Primera Division rivals Sevilla 5-4 after extra time in a thrilling Super Cup clash in Tbilisi.
That came after Barca technical secretary Robert Fernandez was quoted as saying before the match that Pedro had told him he wanted to leave the Camp Nou.
The Spain winger has been heavily linked with a move to United as they look to replace Angel Di Maria, who joined Paris St Germain for £44.3 million last week.
However, speaking afterwards, Pedro said he is happy at Barca but suggested he may well be set to leave the club.
Asked if he wanted to go or not, the long-serving forward was quoted as saying by AS: “The answer is no, but it’s complicated for many things.
“It’s not for money, as has been said — which is another lack of respect. It’s a question of continuity, of minutes. I’m an ambitious player. Stay or go, I will always be of this team.
“I don’t know if it will be my last game for Barcelona. I only want to enjoy this title.”
Regarding Fernandez’s claims, Pedro said: “There are many pros and cons about my situation. The comments of Robert Fernandez are unfair. He’s made some very unfortunate declarations.
“I’ve crossed two words with him and he doesn’t know what I’ve been through at the club to talk like that of me.
“I know who I am and I will always be of Barca. Such people shouldn’t speak in this way.”
RAFAEL CLAIMS MAN UTD BOSS LOUIS VAN GAAL ‘DID NOT LIKE ME’
Rafael da Silva has claimed Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal “did not like” him.
Rafael completed his move to Ligue 1 side Lyon last week for a fee of around £2.5m and the 25-year-old has lifted the lid on his seven-year spell at Old Trafford, where he played under three different managers.
When asked about Van Gaal’s reported dislike of Brazilian players, Rafael, in an interview in Globo Esporte was quoted as saying: “I don’t know, sincerely. I don’t know what to say about that, because I was the only one, since Anderson left before.
I know that he didn’t like me, but if that’s because I’m Brazilian, I don’t know. Rafael da Silva on Louis van Gaal
DAVID DE GEA INCLUDED IN MAN UNITED’S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SQUAD
David De Gea has been included in Manchester United’s Champions League squad in a sign they are confident of keeping him but Louis van Gaal signalled there is no reprieve for Victor Valdes by omitting him.
Van Gaal chose not to pick De Gea for the United’s Premier League opener against Tottenham because of his concerns about the Real Madrid target’s state of mind.
But he gave himself the option of fielding the Spaniard in the two-legged playoff against Club Brugge, where the winner will earn a place in the group stages.
Van Gaal has told Real that if they want to sign De Gea, they have to pay his market value and United want a world record fee for a goalkeeper if they are to let the 24-year-old go.
If not, United are willing to keep their double player of the year and will run the risk of losing him on a free transfer next summer.
